Cape Province / Kaap Provins (named after the Good Hope Cape): Occupying
more than half of the South African territory, in the west, bordering Lesotho,
Botswana and Namibia). Strikingly few bantusthans, all in it's eastern edge.
Included Ciskei and most of
Transkei, by the southeastern shore, and roughly
half of Bophutatswana, in the northwest. It was
reorganized in the new provinces of Western Cape,
Northern Cape, Eastern Cape
and the western half of North-West.
