The banner of arms of Mecklenburg: In escutcheon: (County of Schwerin) per
fess red over yellow. Field 1: (Small arms of Mecklenburg) on yellow a gold

Flags of the 19th and 20th Centuries]. Although this is the arms of both grand
duchies, it was used as the Grand Duke's flag only in Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Mecklenburg-Strelitz used a different flag. In use from before 1870 until 1918.

Standard of the Great Duchess Alexandra from Mecklemburg-Schwerin. Square
three horizontal stripes, blue, white, red. In center a white oval (7/8 of the
flag from host to fly and 5/8 of the height, with complete arms similar the
the arms of Mecklemburg-Schwerin. The ox supports a shield (the Schwerin one)
and the griffin another shield (Cumberland shield? - Alexandra was from Duke
of Cumberland family); only one crown above two shields (in middle of both);
below a ribbon with inscription. Sorry but in the image model I'm unable to
see the details for the supposed Cumberland shield and also for the ribbon and
inscription.

Blue-white horizontal bicolor. Officially adopted 22 Oct 1882. Adopted as flag
of the Pomeranian portion of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania 1991.

Possible administrative flag. Like no.18, but with the Pomeranian arms (red
griffin in silver field) in center.
Norman Martin, 1998-03-03
I could be wrong, but I thought it was the flag without the arms (no.18) that
was adopted as the Vorpommern flag.
Norman Martin, 21 June 1998
The black-white-red flag with the Mecklenburg oxhead in the center (apparently
slightly offset towards the hoist) with the black-red-gold flag in the canton
as in the Weimar merchant flag. (Thus the National merchant flag with the oxhead).
In use c.1926-1933
Norman Martin, 1998-03-03
Blue-white-red horizontal tricolor with circular cut-out as in the Imperial
