The Argentinian standard was conceived by General Belgrano, at the
place where today is located the city of Rosario. He got the inspiration
while he was staring at the sky, just before a battle, at the shores of
the Paraná.

In Meyers Konversations-Lexikon [mkl97],
there is a plate with flags of the states, and accompanying it a list
with descriptions of flags (in German): «Republic of Argentina:
Blue-white-blue horizontal. The white has a golden sun in first third
of the white stripe.»
Zeljko Heimer, 1996-09-16
1913: In the state ensign the sun is only as tall as the white stripe,
and it is closer to the hoist.
1941: Same as today.
