Kneeling before an altar, David intones a song of
hope for the afflicted: "Praise the Lord, O my soul, in
my life I will praise the Lord: I will sing to my God
as long as I shall be. Put not your trust in princes: in
the children of men, in whom there is no salvation."
The scene takes place in the choir of a church.
High windows light the blue transept vault supported by massive pillars with attached colonettes. The transept opens onto what could be a sacristy;
part of the ambulatory is also visible. The altar hanging is embroidered in gold.
