De Profundis, the sixth Penitential Psalm (Psalm CXXIX), is illustrated by a miniature in which David kneels with joined hands before an altar within a chapel; a red-hatted figure in the middleground is in a similar supplicant posture.
On the left, a bearded man clasps a blonde woman who watches the King pray.
Jean Colombe executed the ornamental D and the center foliage as well as the miniature. The face in the initial letter recalls the young woman's face in the scene above.
