Psalm I, "Blessed is the man who hath not walked in
the counsel of the ungodly," is introduced hy a
harmonious miniature in which the Limbourgs have
represented King David kneeling before an altar,
caressing the strings of a harp, and looking heavenward while he sings.
Two of the faithful, seated on
benches behind him, follow the text in their books.
The scene is set in a flamboyant Gothic chapel in
which very thin colonettes support a delicately trefoiled arcade.
