Wearing a voluminous golden cloak with an ermine cope, David sings a hymn of thanksgiving: "A hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem. "
Jean Colombe has painstakingly represented the interior of the religious building, very different of course from those in which David actually prayed.
Particularly interesting are the detailed altar, baptismal font, stained-glass windows, and the woodwork of the pulpit.
