Chinese dissident Wang Dan recently
had his appeal denied after a perfunctory 10-minute
hearing. He now faces an 11-year sentence in Chinese
forced labor camps. Join us in our efforts to free Wang
Dan.
Support Democracy in China (SDC) is a volunteer

Commemoration of Tiananmen Square
On June 4, 1996, SDC co-sponsored a day of
activities to commemorate the courage of the
students who died in the June 4, 1989 Tiananmen
Square Massacre. A mock funeral procession
through downtown San Francisco, followed by a
conference at a hotel in Chinatown, were the
highlights of the event. Come see pictures of the
day's activities.

unwavering support of the Chinese democracy
movement. To honor her efforts, we recently

Law
Assembly Bill No. 2457, introduced by
Assembly Member Liz Figueroa, makes it a state
policy not to buy any imported slave-made goods,
including products from China's prison labor
camps.
