Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Central-Eastern, Eastern Malayo-Polynesian, Oceanic, Central-Eastern Oceanic, Remote Oceanic, Micronesian, Nauruan. Children are apparently not learning Nauru. Active language use. Almost all people are bilingual in English. Used as a second language by the Kiribati, Tuvalu, Kosraean, Marshallese. School attendance is required from age 6 to 17.
