ISTRO-ROMÂNA ( ISTRO-ROMANIAN )

A Romance language split from the other three Romanian languages between 500 and 1000 AD. It is spoken by about 2000 people in the northeastern Istrian Peninsula around Ucka Gora, primarily in the Zejane village, not far from Rijeka, Croatia.

Source: Fr. J. Sajovec published this prayer in "Novice gospodarske, obertnijske i narodske" Nr. 87, Lubljana, 1856. The prayer was originally recorded in the village of Sushnievitsa.
It was subsequently republished by Fr. Miklosich in "Die slawischen Elemente in in Rumunischen", Wien, 1862, and reproduced in "Crestomatie Romanica", Bucharest, 1968.
