Picture 13:
Excavation just inside of the main door of the Franciscan Church(West).
Picture taken in the Eastern direction.
Note the remains of the V cent. Atrium:
found by Fr. Aegydius Geissler in 1897, is located in the small rectangle with a bluish background.


Picture 14:
The well-known aramaic inscription which had this opening phrase:
"Blessed be the memory of Yoseh, son of Tanhum"...

Picture 16:
The structure enclosing a stone basin as it was preserved at the centre of the crypt. In the background: the flight of steps which lead down to the crypt.
