Offices in the Holy Sepulchre

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem celebrates the solemn offices of the Holy Week (Maundy Thursday 1997) in the church of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. The strict rules of the "status quo" assign special places and times to the celebrations of the different Christian communities which are charged to accomplish the liturgy. In the photograph His Beatitude Mons. Michel Sabbah is sitting in the Latin choir, belonging to the Franciscan community, in front of the Aedicule.
