Geththa (1Sam 5:8), where the ark of
the testimony was transferred from Azotus (Ashdod). And now there
is a large village which is called Giththam, between Antipatris
and Jamnia; and there is also another called Geththim. (Eusebius,
Onomasticon 72:2-4; Jerome 73:2-4)
