49. Sams - ('Ayn Haud)

The name of the village is partially destroyed. Beside it we make out a vignette of "a door between two towers" type, damaged too. The relation with the name of the village is not sure because the vignette is usually below the name.


Sams. The spring of Sams, of the tribe of Benjamin. Aquila translates the Spring of the Sun. (Eusebius, Onomasticon 158:4; Jerome 149:3-4)
