West of Zoar and South of the Dead Sea are the letters "Desert of...". This is the northern part of Wadi ´il-'Araba.

I am against you, Mount Seir; I stretch out my hand against you to make you a desolation and a waste. I lay your towns in ruins [Greek: eremian]; you shall become a desolation [Greek: eremos] , and you shall know that I am the Lord. (Ezek. 35:4)
