14. Gerizim - (Mount Gerizim)

The famous mountains of Gerizim (Gabal at-Tor) and Ebal (Gabal Islamiya) are listed twice on the Madaba map: above and beneath the plane of Nablus/Shechem and at the edge of the mountains northwest of Jericho.

Gerizim (Deut 11:29), is the mountain on which stood those who recited the blessings [Jerome mistakenly writes: the curses], near Mount Gebal of which we spoke above. (Eusebius, Onomasticon 64:16-17; Jerome 65:16-17)
