Mount Ephraim and Benjamin
32. Eastern border of Judea
Michael Avi-Yonah (The Madaba Mosaic Map, Jerusalem 1954, 44)
This text is derived from On. 14,7, which refers erroneously to Num. 34, 4 where the sonthern border of Judah is discussed. Eusebius was apparently influenced by Josephus, who includes the district of Acraba among the toparchies of Judaea in his time (War III, 55). The Mishna regards it as the northern boundary of Judaea, one day's march from Jerusalem (Maas. Sheni V, 2).
