Christmas 1998: Message from Bethlehem by the Franciscan Custos of the Holy Land Fr. Giovanni Battistelli OFM

The Lord Jesus comes amongst us. He asks to be received. To him who receive him he offers justice. A Child who has the power to form a people out of two and a free human out of every person. Glory to God in the highest and peace to all whom he Loves. May this New Year, blessed by the Father who with the mediation of the Blessed Virgin Mary gives us his only Son, be a Year of Grace for all who await salvation in hope.

Il Signore Gesù viene tra noi. Egli chiede di essere accolto. A chi Lo ospita offre la giustizia. Un Bambino ha il potere di fare di due un solo popolo, di ogni persona un uomo libero. Gloria a Dio nel più alto dei cieli e Pace agli uomini che Egli ama. Questo Nuovo Anno, benedetto dal Padre il quale con la mediazione di Maria Vergine, ci dona il Figlio Unigenito, sia un Anno di Grazia per ogni uomo che attende nella speranza, la salvezza.
